What Spring Break Missed Out On- The Sun
Wednesday, March 30, 2011
Hello!
So my Spring Break was not sunny at all. At my hometown the sun decided to hibernate for a little while more. But now it's coming out and it's been about 70 degrees and hotter! So thank you Sun for finally gracing us with your presence. Now I can you with more rompers, dresses, and floral patterns.
So for these pictures, Caroline and I decided to go beyond our staircase, and find another place to take pictures. We found this patch of green. Hello Large Patch of Grass!
Oh heyyy. This looks similar to Caroline's post from yesterday. Anyway, a chambray shirt is one of my go-to shirts. (You can tell that I use this shirt alot from all the wrinkles) If I don't like how a dress or shirt looks; I just put a chambray shirt on and everything is all better. P
Alas we again resorted to another set of stairs. But I think we found another spot! I can see that Caroline tried hard to make my legs seem long. Thank you Caroline!
Button Up: H&M || Romper : H&M || Necklace: Gift || Belt: My mommy's from way back ||
Shoes: Aerosoles

So I hope it's at least starting to get sunny for everyone! So that we can all share in the enjoyment of Vitamin D and warmth and just all around happy feeling that we get when we go out on a sunny day. =)
Spring Break Project #2: Dress --> Skirt
Tuesday, March 29, 2011
So here comes the results of my next Spring Break project! Yesterday I went to my cousin's house who is so amazing and talented with a sewing machine and she taught me some tips and tricks. I will be writing more about her in another post because she really is great!
Yesterday she taught me how to sew and inserting elastic for things like pajama pants, or in this case, a skirt!
Here's the dress (stolen from my own Facebook, haha):
Or you might recognize it from this post:
Well, I love this dress. But over time, it just got way too short and the top got really loose. Naturally, this saddens me because I love the pattern and I always want to wear it out (especially to church), but can't because of how short and loose it is.
So I decided to make it into a skirt!
Tadaaa! Now it's a skirt!
Skirt: Refashioned by me || Shirt: Forever 21 || Chambray Shirt: Thrifted || Belt: Thrifted
Tights:Target || Necklace: Present || Purse: Present || Sunglasses: Forever 21
I actually copied this style from Erin -- we haven't posted the pictures yet, but she inspired this outfit for me. Or rather, I copied it very closely.
Also, hope you enjoyed the photos -- shoutout to my Mommy who took them! It was both fun and funny. x)

What will one do without a "Caroline" in her life?
Saturday, March 26, 2011
You see, Caroline is pretty much the one that made the whole let's-make-our-own-blog into a reality. She's the one that designed the layout, asked her friend Josephine to make the layout, and also NOW takes our pictures with her fantastic camera. So really this is all her. Honestly,I just take pictures and posts. I think this calls for an applause from the audience and for her to take her imaginary award for being THE BEST. =)
So with Caroline and I apart during our Spring Break and with her gone for another week while the rest of us still-in-college peeps start classes, what will Erin do for the blog?
Well, this is what Erin will do for the blog:
1. Try to take pictures of herself with her automatic camera with my less than 0 skills of photography
AND
2. Get her boyfriend to take pictures of her with her automatic camera with his less than 0 skills of photography.
So I guess this is warning post! And with that said, may I present a picture of my photographers for my posts next week.
So the answer to the question "What will one do without a "Caroline" in her life?" is answered with "I don't know what I would have ever done without a Caroline in my life. I feel sorry for those that don't have one." Does that even answer the question? I don't know but it's the truth.
Miss you and love you Caroline! =)
Until next time,

Featuring Family & Friends Friday #4
Friday, March 25, 2011
So far we've just had features of our friends, but today we have our first family post - Caroline's youngest sister!
Meet Noe (short for Noelle)!
(And our dog, Aslan... haha.) Noe is Caroline's youngest sister - she's in the 6th grade and she's already almost taller than Caroline! She is growing up to be such a beautiful young lady and she's also trying out different styles of clothing, so we wanted to feature her current style. (Remember trying to define yourself in middle school? That's exactly what's going on here, except she is doing a waaaay better job than we did in middle school!)
Pretty stylish for a 6th grader, eh?
Her new glasses have these cute flowers on the ends!
"Wingardium Leviosa!"
Fedora: Hand-Me-Down from Caroline || Cardigan: Hand-Me-Down from Aurora (our middle sister) || Shirt: Express || Shorts: Target || Flats: Payless
Random Fun Facts About Noe:
1. She likes to dance.
2. She likes platypuses/platypi (whatever the plural for "platypus" is, haha).
3. She doesn't like cranberry juice
Yay, hope you enjoyed our first family post for our FF&FF! Happy Friday, everyone!

Spring Break Project #1: Pillowcase Skirt
Wednesday, March 23, 2011
I made my very first article of clothing!!! As you all know, Erin and I are on Spring Break. This means that I get to play with my mom's sewing machine! Out of excitement, I made a list of projects:
- Make a skirt out of a pillowcase.
- Alter a thrifted dress.
- Refashion this dress into a skirt.
- Make a skirt out of extra fabric.
(Haha, I guess I really want skirts, huh?)
Here's an extra pillowcase that came with my bedding. Remember how I love purple? Well, this particular shade is my favorite! So I wanted to make a skirt out of it... because I liked the color. :P
So I examined one of my other skirts for
Top: Present || Skirt: Made by me! || Cardigan: H&M | Heels: H&M
Since it is my first attempt at making clothes, it's far from perfect. The waist is uneven and the hemming is a bit off. But I'm still extremely satisfied with the outcome and I'm excited to use the sewing machine some more! Practice makes better, right? :D So expect my next couple of posts to be about my "spring break projects", haha. :)

Spring Time = Running through a Meadow Time
Tuesday, March 22, 2011
Hello!
So yesterday was the first day of Spring and the lovely city of Irvine decided to welcome the day with rain and winds. Yaaaay. But today is looking better. That's probably one of the best things about a storm; the next day is beautiful and clean.
So let's celebrate the first week of Spring with some color and floral!
So these are my first sitting photos on our lovely stairs and I think that I like standing up more haha. I guess when I sat down I felt like I couldn't really do anything compared to when I stood up. Then again, I still don't really move that much when I stand up. I think it's because standing makes me feel tall when I'm not =).
So this cardigan is from this this cool little thrift shop in West LA. I think it was one of my best days thrifting because (not only finding this wonderful oversized cardigan but ) on this day I bought this AWESOME velvet puff sleeve jumper for one dollar. At first my cousin just wanted me to try it on for laughs, but when I tried it on I loved it. You know that feeling, when you try something on and you had to have it ? Well, that was the feeling when I tried it on. I don't know where or when I'll wear it, but I'll find some opportunity to wear it and maybe I'll show you guys one day. =)
Cardigan: Thrifted || Top: Urban Outfitters || Jeggings: Urban Outfitters || Flats: Nordstrom Rack
So enjoy the first week of Spring! Wear colors, florals, ruffles-whatever your heart desires that makes you feel like running through a meadow. That's what I think of when I dress for a spring day. Wouldn't that just be the perfect day? Running through a meadow, eating a picnic, reading and then falling asleep under the sun. Mmm. Time to research where the meadows are at in Irvine. =)
Until next time!
Spring Break
Sunday, March 20, 2011
It is finally Spring Break! Finals week took a huge toll on our bodies (via lack of sleep, unhealthy junk/fast food, etc... you all know the drill!) so I'm glad to have the chance to relax. Except I guess for me this isn't really a "Spring Break" considering that it was my last quarter for undergrad! It's so crazy, I don't think it's hit me yet. But either way, I'm still going to call this my "Spring Break" and what better way to kick it off than with floral?
This cardigan is sooooo flowy, I always feel the urge to flap them like wings. x)
So normally, I am not too keen on the whole "leggings as pants" deal. But then MONKEYFACE @ Hello, Monkeyface! had a post on "How To Make Your Legs Look Super Long" (via leggings). However, I didn't really pull it off because I'm still super short. :3
Umm, this picture is mainly for Erin (haha, you know what picture came after this!). :P
Cardigan:Present from Clem || Dress worn as top: Charlotte Russe || Leggings: Random store || Flats: Vans
Belt: Came with a blazer from F21 || Necklace: Present from Daniel
So theeere you go! :) Actually, next time you see that dress, hopefully I'll have made it into a skirt... hopefully. Anyway, have a great week, everyone!
Featuring Family & Friends #3: Joebel (J)
Friday, March 18, 2011
Despite it being the finals week, we still have a FF&FF post for you guys! We're going to have our very first guy featured on our blog. Nope, he is not either of our boyfriends. In fact, he is the boyfriend of our third best friend, Clemrose. Don't worry, she'll be featured soon enough. We're excited for you to meet her, too. But until then...
But we just call him J! And yeah, not even "Jay"... just "J". Like the letter, haha. We met J almost a year and a half ago when he started to
Anyway, in addition to him being our best friend's boyfriend, he has also become a great friend to the both of us. And this is why we decided to feature him this week. :)
Erin and I realized that we didn't know any poses for guys, but J is just a natural in front of the camera!
"CG" are Clem's initials. She has a matching one with his initials, too. Also, his tattoo translates to, "Nothing Without God."
Lastly, he has the best accessory ever: their American Eskimo puppy, Micah! :D
Shirt:H&M || Hoodie: Forever 21 || Jeans: Republic || Shoes: Diesel || Sunglasses: Ray Ban
1. He speaks Spanish, Tagalog and Italian.
2. He can do one arm push-ups.
3. He can teach people how to Dougie!
(He still has yet to teach us... guess it's time to learn!)
So we hope you enjoyed this post. There's not a lot of guys on fashion blogs, but you can look forward to us featuring our own boyfriends and our other guy friends too. :)
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend! ♥
Study Break
Wednesday, March 16, 2011
Hello!
So since finals started we haven't really been posting on our blog...but we have taken pictures of our outfits! =) Caroline and I have considered them to be very nice study breaks for us...that last a little too long...
This is a no-makeup post. Before this me and the rest of my roommates were in sweats just studying in our living room. I forgot that I didn't put any on. Whooops. Sorry. OH and sorry for looking tired too!
Using this scarf as a shawl was an idea that I got from this post from Kristine of Kristine and Polly.
It was a real eye opener because I have so many scarves.
A little print mixing. =)
Scarf: Downtown LA || Shirt: Buffalo Express || Pants: Forever 21 || Belt: Dad's old belt || Shoes: Aerosoles || Necklace: Tiffany's Necklace
Haha. Look as I try to go and interact with my background but instead end up touching the tree and posing with a smile. Ah as much as I love this little tree that is in front of our apartment, we both realized how short it makes us look...haha. No bueno.
Good luck to everyone who are studying for finals! Stop by Caroline's previous post for some great advice from her Momma. My advice: have a lot of snacks close by, study with a couple of great friends, have an awesome playlist, and some hot tea.
Until next time!
A little reminder
Sunday, March 13, 2011
So as you know from Erin's most recent post, it's finals week. Ahhhhhhh. The stress has slowly started building up and I'm pretty sure it's going to hit me any minute, considering I have one tomorrow. But just as I started feeling super stressed I got a text from my mom:
Good morning sweetie...i know this is finals week. remember to take quick breaks when ur studying...drink water, massage ur scalp and breathe deeply =] love u...btw did i ever tell u im proud of u? Well i am :D immensely.
After reading that I felt like I could breathe again. :) So for all you college folk, it's probably finals or midterms time for you so I just want to wish you all good luck and pass on that little reminder - take breaks, drink water, massage your scalp and take deep breaths. :D
Sorry, all my photos are of me twirling in this dress and this was the least blurry!
I really like this pattern - but it's super busy! This is actually a dress and I was inspired by Katherine of thrifted things who I've seen wear dresses as skirts plenty of times. So I thought I'd try it out myself. :) Does it look okay?
The necklace was from my Grandma - we share the same initial! Her name is Carmelita, and you all know my name is Caroline. :P Idk, I just think that's sorta cool... even though it's not a rare occurrence or anything. x)
Dress (worn as skirt): Kohl's || Shirt: PacSun || Belt: Thrifted
Sandals: Charlotte Russe || Necklace: Present from Grandma
Soooo yeah! That's about it... So whether you have finals this week, midterms, work, class, or if you're already on Spring Break -- I hope you have a wonderful week!
